Dermal fillers can effectively contour and correct many age-related changes in soft tissue, as well as address loss of volume. The main ingredient in many dermal fillers is hyaluronic acid, which is widely recognized for its safety, hydration, and anti-ageing properties. This naturally occurring substance is abundant in youthful skin but diminishes with age. Restoring this non-animal derived substance helps regain the soft contours in areas of the face affected by age-related volume loss. The results from these treatments typically last from 6 to 12 months.

These versatile products can enhance the quality and tone of the skin and subtly restore volume to various areas of the face, such as the cheeks, jawline, and areas around the mouth and eyes. They can also be used on the back of the hands, an often neglected area in anti-ageing regimes. Hyaluronic acid fillers provide subtle improvements to the lips by adding shape and definition. A "less is more" approach is particularly important in this area, and Lucia pays close attention to the natural proportions of the face to achieve the best results.

FAQ’s - Dermal Fillers

  • Thanks to the sophistication of Teosyl dermal fillers, discomfort during and after treatment is minimal. Optional topical anaesthetic cream is available as well but often this is not necessary with the use of a blunt microcannula which allows the filler to be placed through a single entry point in the skin, which often helps to minimise the risk of bruising

  • Teosyl dermal fillers are a class III medical device and have been extensively and rigorously tested over many years with considerable evidence to support their robust safety profile in cosmetic medicine. Minimal bruising, swelling and soreness at the sites of injection may occur and typically resolve within a few days, this may vary with each individual.

  • Women who are pregnant, breast feeding or trying to conceive are not suitable for any cosmetic injectable treatments. Active herpes/cold sores present anywhere on the face are a contraindication to this treatment, which is fully explained during the consultation. A reported prior sensitivity to any of the dermal filler constituents (rare) would also contraindicate treatment.

Pricing

I aim to keep my prices as low as possible and regularly check the market to ensure we provide value. However, I only use the highest quality products that are CE certified and FDA approved. We have noticed that many of the new fillers on the market are not approved, which for us, puts our patient’s safety in question. We record all product lot numbers to ensure product authenticity.

We would urge anyone thinking of having an aesthetic procedure to ensure they use a qualified aesthetic practitioner and avoid the lesser-known brands to ensure outcome longevity and client safety.
